Is your Massage Therapist Certified with CAMTC?
Massage therapists who choose to work in the public arena need to be qualified and certified with the California Massage Therapy Council. There are different levels of certification based on education and experience, which can be verified with each certificate number, CAMTC #6106. After passing the National Exam for Therapeutic Massage and Bodyworkers (NCBTMB), National Board #555186-08, education and clinical hours, a full background check with the DOJ, fingerprints on record, and medically cleared for any contagious or communicable diseases, the California Massage Therapy Council approves a certification number to massage therapists, signifying their professional certification.

How often should I have a massage?
Since every client has individual needs, the amount of massage recommended will also vary. To ensure the massage continues to be effective, a minimum of a once a month appointment may be recommended. Each massage session is cumulative so the affects of the massage will last longer with regular intervals.
What is draping?
Draping is a term used by massage therapists to ensure the client is always covered and only areas of the body being massaged are uncovered.
Why ask about our body health at each massage session?
At the beginning of each massage session, we need to be aware of any changes with your body since your last massage, any major concerns regarding your body’s health, lifestyle changes, new injuries, or surgeries, and what areas you feel need more attention during your appointment. Based on the information provided, a plan is formulated, and a customized massage is developed.
Are gratuities expected?
Gratuities or “tips” are an extension of gratitude based on how you feel after your appointment, how well the massage was performed, and if the service went beyond your initial expectations. Gratuities are not expected, but are appreciated in this profession.
